A Symposium On China’s Peaceful Reunification By Overseas Chinese Community Leaders From 9 European Nations 2002/6/12
A “symposium on China’s Peaceful Reunification?was held in Amsterdam , during which , overseas Chinese community leaders from 9 European nations expressed their strong desire for a peaceful reunification of China and against independence of Taiwan. They mentioned that , as overseas Chinese, they should make contributions to the cause of China’s reunification.
It is reported by European Times that, Mr. Hu Yunge, host of the symposium and summoner of Dutch China Peaceful Reunification Promotion Association , said at the symposium that , the cause of peaceful reunification is of vital importance to the great revival of the Chinese nation. And it is in the fundamental interests of all Chinese people including those living in Taiwan and those overseas Chinese. It is his wish that the dream of motherland’s peaceful reunification would be realized as early as possible.
Mr. Hu Zhiguang, Dutch China Chamber of Commerce (DCCC) added that “fighting for reunification and against Taiwan’s independence from China ?had already become a unstoppable historical tide. More than 30 million overseas Chinese had not only been concerned with the Taiwan political situation and the cross-strait relationship, but also engaged themselves in promoting the cause of peaceful reunification of the motherland.
